I love how everyone's so exited for WandaVision and she hasn't even used her powers yet. Come what may with this remake I'm just gonna call it there is no way it can possibly be worse than The Lion King. I know it's a controversial topic. I know no one would read this long of a content. But I wrote it and want to put it somewhere. I promise it's all sources and links, and I hope it's not spam. Feel free to downvote. I grew up in China and I value true free press. I know we don't have it. I somehow feel like that you don't either. Corporate spins are everywhere and reports, especially editorials could be very prejudiced. We all live in bubbles thinking we are right, and we should all strive to break them. (If you still think I'm pulling things out of my ass, or I'm simply despising western media coz of CCP, you're welcome to check out this Japanese reporter's experience (chrome-translate is fine). This article is incredibly calm and neutral, and you'll see a completely DIFFERENT image from the CCP's, BBC's and CNN's. ) The situation in HK right now is extremely complicated. I don't claim to know any better. However, I do realized that some news is NEVER reported here. e. g. the grave smashing from the protesters. It's not on BBC, CNN or NYTimes. Their livestreams usually show everything, which is very precious, but the edited articles and editorials always downplay the violence. I don' think this benefits anyone, IMHO. I'm not denying police violence. I'm just saying, some of the most famous "police pulling gun" incidents so far are all second halves of videos. Of course, in protests there will be some extremists. I understand why certain media wants to downplay it, and why CCP's media wants to amplify it. From all the things I gathered, the actual level should be somewhere in between. Yet most people I see on the reddit thinks that the violence is "sudden and rare outburst" and the police violence is one-sided. I think that's a somewhat deluded opinion. The real danger comes from the protesters' principles. Though I do agree eventually only a tiny part of the protesters are violent, one of the protesters' principles is: "不割蓆", which roughly translates to "never sever any comrades". You can see for yourself if you go on this forum where the protesters discuss, or from the posters they have been putting out on facebook. This means that, due to either peer pressure, or some other reason, any protester will have to support all other protester's behaviors, including the violent ones. And they have been doing that. Again, I have no intention of dismissing the whole protest. So just in case pls remind me of my own biases as well. I would be honored if you want to read to the end. I also don't think I'm qualified to analyze anything, so I hope to do this as an info dump. Though I'm from China, I tried to look at non-CCP sources. The sources are not perfect right now, but I want to edit it in if someone's reading. The whole thing's not complete either. I will also quote "the western report" and give my reason why I think some of the report is heavily prejudiced. Ofc, you're welcome to point out where have I been fooled. I've been putting this together from a few days ago, so please excuse for the length. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Before anything: Obama's speech on Baltimore protest: "When they burn down a building, they’re committing arson. And they’re destroying and undermining businesses and opportunities in their own communities. " I support anyone's right to protest. I supported the first few peaceful protests. Violence itself does NOT illegitimize the whole protest, and each one of the videos I post has more context (that I'm happy to explain). But to pretend that the violence didn't happen, to claim it's a "peaceful protest"(6/12) is hypocritical. Especially when the violence is on such a massive scale and over such a long period. Ironically, the protest started because they don't trust the legal systems in the mainland, BUT one of their "5 demands" is that none of the violent actions should be legally accountable. In Hong Kong: I wanted to start with protesters have BOMBS and your media completely brushed over it (BBC)... Well, let's save it for later. Oh, yeah, protesters beating up people: 8/13 Here's a video of them beating and choking a Chinese tourist. They illegally searched and trap this "spy" before the beating. Then the protesters tried to stop the EMT and the man was unconscious for 4 HOURS. A word from a foreign reporter who tried to let the man out. ( If I didn't interfere he would've been dead, something along the lines of that. **) More livestream footage from Washington Post. You can see that they brought the airport into a halt. All flights are canceled. They also beat up another reporter on the same night. When both victims were on the stretchers, the protesters continued to hit them. 8/6 Beating up random guy in the street Notice the level of violence in the background. 7/15 Beating up the police. Seriously this one's brutal af. 7/1 Beating up a tourist for taking photos...... There are so many more.. But speaking of taking photos, here are the protester "embracing press freedom". 8/9 Group harassing a reporter and force her to delete photos and Why it's actually justified in HK to take photos publicly 8/8 Same thing 7/10 Robbing someone's phone, deleting photos and shoot laser into her eyes. 7/6 Trying to rob someone's phone and delete the photos...... Some more violent actions? How about: 8/11 Throwing molotov cocktails, not only at the police but everywhere. 8/3 Actual arson 6/12 Throwing bricks 7/27 Same thing? 8/3 Brick slingshot!!! 8/7 The "laser pointer" to "stop facial recognition" can literally scorch a paper in 10 sec and how they use it There's controversy because the police arrested a college student in undercover. The student had ten of these pens with the same wattage. The public was worried about the procedure justice, and how the demonstration would affect the public opinion. People began to buy more of these to show support for the arrested student, and started to light them everywhere. bow and arrows, and ignited carts...... They also tried to paralyze the transportation, and even the economy: A translated and somewhat biased video. But from the protester: "We want to sacrifice our economy" "we want to sacrifice people" "even if some people die"... (personal: Frankly, if they want to sacrifice themselves, they absolutely have my respect... BUT they're sacrificing other people. The 4 guys who started the protest are now all abroad for college, while trying to convince the Hong Kong students go on strike for the coming September. More examples to come. ) 8/5 The protesters tried to paralyze the subway (MTR), because they want to force everyone to go on a strike on 8/5. One pregnant lady suffered. The emergency button was pressed 123 times. 8/5 Blocking the road so people can't go to work, hence forcing the "strike". Another video. 8/5 A car was smashed and owner hit, while trying to pass the illegally blocked road. The car owner yells "I support democracy too, why can't you be peaceful. " 7/21 The protesters tried illegally blocked roads for attacking The HK Liaison Office, and smash every car that tried to pass. A truck driver was beaten up. 8/13 They literally stopped all flights in the airport. From BBC: A protester trying to convince her comrades to let her friends pass but got scolded and cried. Well... sick children couldn't get out and people couldn't go home and they're furious. (from a taiwan source, watch till the end to see one taiwanese guy supporting this) Over 200 flights are canceled And lastly: 7/26 VIDEO FROM THE PROTESTER: The "truth" about why they harassed an elderly. In the video you can clearly see the elderly "tried to assault the protesters" (/s), so they flooded and surrounded him and shouted all the derogatory terms to an elderly, which in an Asian culture is hugely offensive. 7/29 Gang up and force an elderly off an MTR train for different standpoints on the protest. 8/15 A protester beat his own mother over protesting and got bound over by court. (no report in English. from HK media) 7/23 A legislator's FAMILY GRAVES SMASHED AND DEFACED for having different opinions shaking hands with Yuen Long resident/thugs? The protesters also surrounded his office and beat up pedestrians that passed by....... If you know anything about the Cultural Revolution, the last section looks dangerously close. As a somewhat standalone incident, one of the protesters have hidden BOMBS that are the same as the ones ISIS use. About some prejudiced reports/attitudes in "the west‘’: BBC usually have multiple versions of a video for different languages. In the one video reporting the Yuen Long incident, they REMOVED the protester provoking and violence, EXCEPT FOR the Chinese version. Chinese one ( website ver) vs International one. (The start is different already. ) I can give you more languages if you want. About the "protester has EXPLOSIVES" incident, pls watch this video, listen to the reporter's narrative. He completely brushed over the explosive part. It's not even mentioned in the description. Instead, he focused on a lady from a pro-police march, who emotionally called him "fake news". The reporter also tried to make the point that very few ppl went to the pro-police march, though allegedly 316k ppl went. ( wiki, take it with a grain of salt, coming from me. ) What about the other democratic march? On July 1, Reuters used FACIAL RECOGNITION SOFTWARE and calculated 227k ppl marched. Also, Reuters estimated that the "2 million march" was an overestimate as well. Since the number for the pro-police march could be incorrect, it doesn't necessarily mean anything. However, remember this reddit post (and reposts) about facial recognition? Some news site made a huge deal out of it as well. NY Times interviewed a Chinese professor, completely twisted his words, and ignored his evidence he used to back up his argument. The article can be found here. So some guy, who can actually tell Asians apart, found the same lady playing different roles in different marches. Well it doesn't necessarily mean anything; she could just be into theater. But NY Times deleted that info, truncated and twisted his words to "they are clearly actors". As a reader, you'd probably think: "I can't believe CCP, how can they brainwash Chinese ppl to think all protesters are actors? " Well, now you see what's happening. Here's a more complete version of the 6/12 "peaceful protest". Not biased. From the protester's attack to the police tear gas. Then look at this video, especially at 2:39. Compare and notice what parts are cut. About the Yuen Long incident, Reuters, when there's no evidence, posted "Triad gansters attack". Though some other media said it's only a possibility, they strongly suggested that the triad (“thugs-for-hire”) absolutely did it. 1 2. I'll get to the "truth" in a second. (might be biased and I know I left stuff out since it's complicated.. ) Well, all the non-CCP footage above... why did they disappear in your news? Did CCP really make up ALL of it for its media campaign? Did the cop really do all the violence? Actually, I have screenshots from the forum where the protesters discuss their strategies. Even better, here's the whole website. If you understand Cantonese, you can clearly find stuff like, "let's blame the cops for all our violence since they are undercover" (high upvotes) and so much more! If you really care about the "truth", please see for yourself. Some incidents like smash graves, if you do a google search, NYTimes, BBC, CNN don't mention a single word. If you're questioning its reality, go to the forum above. One of the top usernames is: Legislator Ho's Family Graves (Dismantled)...... So What happened in Yuen Long on 7/21? (some incidents missing and need more research) 7/14: The police went to a mall in Sha Tin and conflict bursted, and one police officer got his finger bitten off ( neutral stance video, uploader literally said "don't know who to blame ") 7/16: The protesters went to a park in Yuen Long (a different district from the protest) and played the video, trying to convert the residents into protesting. However, due to cultural reasons (Yuen Long is a tight-knit, super traditional Chinese community) and one other reason, most Yuen Long residents are pro-China/pro-bill and wanted the protesters to leave. People surrounded the protesters and splashed water at them, and another conflict happened. Since there are too many residents and not enough protesters, the protesters fled the scene. Police also came. The protesters blamed the police for "non-action" Here's the "one other reason": On 16th afternoon, an escaped Hong Kong criminal was sent back (extradited) from the mainland China. This criminal committed murder on 7/8, IN YUEN LONG, and escaped to Shenzhen. Many believe that this is the reason that the residents are in favor of the extradition bill. 7/17 The protesters were bitter about the other night and started spreading resentment towards Yuen Long and its residents (facebook link) (e. this one has racist undertone in it, thinking they are lower class coz they're from Guangdong. Yet facebook never remove hate speech, as long as it's towards mainlanders) I kinda don't wanna dig thru a ton of old fb posts rn... 7/18 A resident in Yuen Long posted a poster (twitter link) warning the "protesters are unwelcome" "if you came, prepare to go back with no hands or legs"... Similar sentiment is shared by Yuen Long residents. facebook link (first one)... there are some other ones planning a peaceful protest on 8/4 In response, a protester posted this(forum link that I told you about), threatening that they have a "one-million army", "a fraction of that could beat you", "I can beat the crap out of the police, I'm not scared of you". Similar posts exist. 7/19 The protesters tried to provoke Yuen Long residents by encouraging protesters to dig up the residents' family graves. (Think about Mulan, and to Chinese this is a big deal. ) The residents are royally provoked. 7/20 The alleged 316k pro-police march. 7/21 Protesters took the subway (MTR) to Yuen Long themselves. From the BBC Chinese clip, you can see the protesters approaching the exit and provoking the residents. But the resident didn't want the protesters to step in Yuen Long, and the fight broke out. The residents dressed in white, to contrast the black protesters. In all fairness, it's a street fight and both sides clearly have its fault. Why didn't the police come soon enough? From the police perspective, they received 24k call in 3 hours (protester post). From the protester's perspective, they should've come coz two other legislators/senators warned police about possible violent incident. (same link) However, a livestream shows that the police came at 23:43, but got booed off by the protesters. "Corrupt police" "corrupt police" (to do: more time stamps for previous incidents) Notably, one of the arguments is that the residents would hit anyone non-discriminantly, even the citizens not in a black-shirt. This argument was made popular by a lady saying her son got hit in a McDonald's uniform. However, based on all public information online, people found out that she has played different characters in different protests. Her kids are literally kids and cannot work. Here's her public facebook post. In every comment section people are questioning her conscience lol. Some lasting effects: the residents became "thugs" in the local media, "triads" in the international media. I'm NOT denying that, to prepare the fight, there could be triads mixed in... But look at the whole thing and tell me if that's the actual point. The people in Yuen Long are blaming the police for not coming, saying that they have no ability to protect people. (Taiwanese source, criticizing of the police) One legislator was beaten by the "thugs". "Thugs" posted videos of the legislator provoking. Not definitive coz middle of a fight? have to look at it again... Another Legislator Ho, in his defense, got out of dinner, OUTSIDE the metro station, away from the fight, met a white-shirt fan ("thug") and shook hands with him. Then the next day Ho's family graves were smashed, and the protesters swarmed his office and beat up strangers. The protesters wanted to revenge on 7/27. Before that, they cut the internet cables of neighborhoods in Yuen Long. But the 7/27 "protest" plan was denied by the police. INCOMPLETE: IF I EVER GET TO IT: full police videos, maybe similar incidents in the States or UK, since the protesters carry these flags; more livestreams and time stamps; The blind girl controversy from both sides. Again, I don't think I'm qualified to analyze anything, so I hope to do this as an info dump. Here's some last defense: I know I used some pro-China sources, but they are from the HK community within, and I try to verify them. I know people see China as some giant monster with a huge blob of tyranny within... But I digress... A healthy society should have the room to contain different political stances. Also the pro-China people don't want to be a slave either. In 2014, a lot of people have the stance of "we still want universal suffrage, but we don't have to occupy central“. Please correct any mistake.

I really want this to be good. :c But what about Mushu hes the best without him they wouldnt have went to war.
